Living and teaching Permaculture at his farm Love Grows in Colombia has been Russell's passion for the last 6 years, before that he travelled and volunteered in over 20 projects across the world learning about sustainable living and different methods in diverse cultures. Russell holds a degree in Plant Sciences and completed his PDC with the Permaculture research institute (PRI) under the tutorage of Geoff Lawton. Russell is now an authorised teacher of the PRI and students will receive their certificate from this institute.
Living with his wife and daughter, Chris has been systematically creating a super abundant thriving permaculture farm and school at his farm Finca Sin Fronteras. With a background in engineering, carpentry, solar electrical systems and life as a nomadic DJ, Chris and his family decided to settle down and build their dream lifestyle in harmony with nature and the local community. Chris loves to share his passion and experience with knowledge and hands on experience.

“I was in lovegrows 2020 February for the pdc course and I really was so happy to be there. Russ had a very good combination of practical and theoretical skills-we always had the chance to go to practice and do it straight away which was for me very helpful to understand and integrate the learning. Russ is very experienced in having students and their needs and also has a huge knowledge of the local situation. It was a joyful and life changing experience and I am very happy that I ended up there to get first introduced to permaculture.

“I did a PDC course with Russ Manning and Chris Hill from December 1 to 14, 2019 as well as 3 months of learning as part of an exchange programme work.
Russ took his role as a teacher to heart by being always available to answer our questions, share what he knew while making sure everyone understood the entire course.
He was able to listen to our projects to make concrete examples that spoke to us.
This course taught me to observe nature, understand how a forest works, the climate etc.
I recommend Russ and Chris for their desire to pass on this knowledge to others to try to change the world around us.

“I studied my PDC at Lovegrows Finca with Russ and Chris in December 2019. In addition to his experience and vast amount of knowledge, Russ possesses many qualities that make him a very able teacher. He has a very calm and patient approach and is very clear and concise when communicating. His farm provided a beautiful space to see permaculture concepts in action and I came away fully inspired to start my own permaculture journey on my recently bought piece of land. Since the course, Russ has always been fully committed to supporting me on my project. He is readily available on whatsapp with advice or answers to any queries and even visited our site a year ago to see how we’re getting on.”
